The Embla sweater is feminine, light and soft with a delicate pattern on the yoke and twisted loops in the cuffs. The neckline is on the wider side and the yoke is relatively deep. The top-down construction facilitates easy adjustments regarding length for both body and sleeves and the finishing touches will take minimal time. Two versions are given in the pattern: A waist-long version with three-quarter length sleeves, which for example pairs well with dresses or high pants. Alternatively, a mid-hip length body with regular length sleeves.

Sizes: 1 – 2 – 3 – 4 – 5 – 6 - 7. The sweater body circumference is 91 - 100 - 109 - 116 - 124 - 133 - 140 cm / 35 ¾ - 39 ¼ - 43 - 45 ¾ - 48 ¾ - 52 ¼ - 55 in.  The sweater is designed with an intended positive ease of at least 7 cm [2 ¾ in], shown in pale pink with approximately 7 cm positive ease, and in blue in an oversized version of 23 cm  positive ease.

Gauge: 18 sts in stockinette = 10 sm / 4 in.

Needles: Main needles for yoke, body and sleeves: Circular Nds in different lengths, size to obtain the right gauge. Recommended size: 4½ [US size 7]. For cuffs: Circular Nd and set of double pointed Nds size: 3½ [US size 4] or 1 mm finer than main Nds.

Yarn: Any light and fluffy yarn that suits the given gauge. The blue sweater featured is knitted up with Midnatssol from CaMaRose (25 g = 200 m/218 yd), held double, color 9536 Jeansblå. Two threads of silk-mohair held together would make a good alternative. You will need 125-150-150-175-175-200-200g for the shorter version and 200-225-225-250-250-275-275g for the longer version.

Difficulty level: 2-3 out of 5. The pattern requires basic knowledge of knitting techniques: Cast on, knit and purl, increases (YO, M1R and M1L) and decreases (k2tog). Other techniques used include decreasing 3 to 1 and increasing 1 to 3. Both written instructions and charts for the yoke pattern are given. The yoke is formed using short rows. Tips and explanations are incorporated in the pattern description, as well as charts, abbreviations and other useful information.
