This children’s pullover is a raglan model with an all over stranded colorwork pattern. The classic, yet modern pattern allows for countless color options so that garments can be created to suit everyone’s taste. Whether soft colors with little contrast or bright colors with high contrast are chosen, the result can be beautiful and unique. A choice of plain rib or seed stitch rib also adds to the possibilities of the sweater’s design.

You will be knitting in the round, top down, starting with the neckband. After finishing the neckband, stitch markers are used to demarcate raglan lines, sleeves, and back and front pieces. Increases are worked along the raglan stitches to shape the yoke. When it comes to dividing into body and sleeves, underarm stitches are cast on for the sides of the body, which is then worked in the round. Sleeves are also worked in the round, after knitting up the underarm stitches.

Sizes: 2 – 4 – 6 – 8 – 10 – 12 years.

Gauge: 21 st and 24 rows in stranded colorwork = 10×10 cm (4 in).

Needles: Circular needle 3 and 4 mm (US 2,5 and 6) or as required to meet gauge; 40 and 60 cm long and/or longer for larger sizes. Double pointed needles 3 and 4 mm (US 2,5 and 6) for sleeves, cuffs and collar. If you use the magic loop technique, you will need one long circular needle in each size.

Yarn: DK weight yarn of your choice, a cotton and wool blend yarn is recommended, so that the pullover does not become too thick and warm. The ones featured are made of Sandnes Duo (50 g = 115 m/126 yd).

You will need approximately: 100 – 150 – 150 – 150 – 200 – 200 g (250 – 380 – 380 – 380 – 500 – 500 yds) of the main color and 100 – 100 – 150 – 150 – 150 – 150 g (250 – 250 – 380 – 380 – 380 – 380 yds) of the second color.

Difficulty level: 2 out of 5. The pattern is suitable for most knitters and the pullover is great for practicing stranded colorwork. Besides stranded colorwork, the following techniques are used: Casting on and binding off, knitting and purling, increasing (M1R and M1L) and decreasing (k2tog and ssk).
